Is the UAGC GLP Compliant?
Yes, the UAGC is Good Laboratory Practices Compliant. We offer advanced reagent tracking, advanced facility monitoring, and an advanced Sample Lifecycle Manager (SLM) system.
How do I register for an account with Sample Lifecycle Manager (SLM)?
A registration tutorial is available for Sample Lifecycle Manager (SLM) here. UofA users should register with their UANetID. Off campus users can register with any valid email address. You will need to provide a UofA KFS acct# or accept an official quote for services from UAGC to establish your account. Email ARL Business office at email@example.com.
Can the UAGC process infectious agents?
The UAGC has areas for bio-safety level 2 (BSL-2) agents. If you are concerned about potentially infectious agents in your project samples please contact laboratory staff.
Who can use the UAGC services?
UAGC is eager to work with researchers from the UofA as well as researchers from other academic institutions and the private sector.
Is there equipment at the UAGC that individuals can reserve for use?
Some of our equipment is available for trained users. This equipment includes a NanoDrop, Agilent Bioanalyzer, and our Real-Time PCR instruments. Please visit the Resource Scheduler, scroll down to find UAGC, and select an instrument to make a reservation. Other UAGC equipment is operated by facility staff and is offered as part of a service.
Do you offer imaging services?
UAGC does not offer imaging services. We recommend the University Spectroscopy and Imaging Facilities- USIF- for your electron microscopy- (SEM and TEM) and x-ray diffraction needs. For MRI and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy please contact the Biological Magnetic Resonance Facility- BMR.
Can you perform flow cytometry?
No, we recommend you contact the Flow Cytometry Core facility. The Flow Cytometry Core has recently added a cabinet which facilitates workflows with BLS-2 agents. Contact this core to ask how their facility may advance your research.
Can you help with my live cell assay?
For live cell assays please contact the Functional Genomics Core - ask how they can help take your assays to a high-throughput plate format.
How do I sign up to submit samples?
To sign up for an account with Sample Lifecycle Manager (SLM) visit https://services.arl.arizona.edu, and register using your UANetID or a valid email address. For a video tutorial on how to register click here.
When will I be billed for services performed?
For simple services users will be billed at the beginning of the calendar month following when results were submitted to the user. For larger projects billing may follow certain benchmarks in the workflow. Please contact UAGC (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the ARL billing office (email@example.com).
What payment methods do you accept?
UofA users can easily pay with an KFS account number. Outside users can pay with a credit card or pre-established PO. To pay online with a credit card once your invoice has been issued, please click here.
